Ruby Schleyer-Westbrook is a second year PhD student in Psychology. She completed her BSc in Psychology from University of Birmingham. After a few years in the third sector, where she designed and managed bespoke oracy training workshops across the UK, Ruby is now returning to academia to pursue her doctoral studies. Her research interests lie in understanding  decision making processes. In addition, Ruby is our sustainability representative, and is currently applying for the lab's Bronze Green DiSC certification.

Thalia Mouratidou is a first year PhD student in Psychology. She completed her BSc in Psychology with Neuroscience at the University of Reading, and her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padova, Italy. After a year of working as a research assistant at the University of Birmingham, Thalia is now stepping into her next step in academia. Her area of interest in research includes decision-making processes and their underlying neural correlates.  

Rumandeep Hayre is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. She completed her undergraduate & postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham. Since then, she joined the University of Birmingham where she completed a 3-year postdoc with Melissa Colloff. Her research interests include cognitive control, metacognition, computational modelling and neuroimaging techniques. 

Rafia Begum Islam is a third year undergraduate student studying B.Sc Human Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham. As a research volunteer in the ACCB Lab, she assists with data collection to understand the cognitive processes involved in decision making and works directly with participants to gain practical experience in a research setting.

Miftahul Jannat Haifa is first year undergraduate student studying BSc Human Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham. In the ACCB Lab, she assists with behavioural data collection and supports participant sessions, gaining hands-on experience in experimental research. With a keen interest in cognitive neuroscience, she aims to develop her practical skills while contributing to the lab’s work on the mechanisms underlying goal-directed behaviour.

Disha Srikanth is an undergraduate student studying BSc Psychology at the University of Birmingham. As a research volunteer, she supports data collection and participant sessions, gaining hands-on experience in experimental research. She is particularly interested in cognitive and forensic psychology with a focus on decision-making, trauma, and rehabilitation, and hopes to further develop her research skills while contributing to work on goal-directed behaviour and cognition.

Alyina Khan recently graduated with a BSc in Human Neuroscience from Aston University. As a research volunteer in the ACCB Lab, she supports behavioural and EEG research by assisting with data collection and participant testing. She hopes to further develop her research skills in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging while contributing to research on motivation, decision-making, and cognitive control.

Aditi Gautam is a first-year BSc Psychology student at the University of Birmingham. Her time at the lab has deepened her interest within the field of cognitive psychology and the study of mental processes. She hopes to develop her understanding through research, while exploring how psychological principles can be applied to real-world challenges.
