Romy Frömer is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Birmingham. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Following a one-year postdoc with Professor Abdel Rahman at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, she worked with Amitai Shenhav at Brown University as a postdoctoral fellow and subsequently senior research associate. She joined University of Birmingham as an Assistant Professor in January 2023.
Anwesha Chakraborty joined us in August. After completing her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from University of Nottingham, she worked as a research assistant in multiple MEG, eye-tracking and fMRI projects. Currently, Anwesha is interested in age-related decision neuroscience & exploring dynamic effort evaluation using neuroimaging methods.
Ruby Schleyer-Westbrook is a second year PhD student in Psychology. She completed her BSc in Psychology from University of Birmingham. After a few years in the third sector, where she designed and managed bespoke oracy training workshops across the UK, Ruby is now returning to academia to pursue her doctoral studies. Her research interests lie in understanding decision making processes.
Thalia Mouratidou is a first year PhD student in Psychology. She completed her BSc in Psychology with Neuroscience at the University of Reading, and her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padova, Italy. After a year of working as a research assistant at the University of Birmingham, Thalia is now stepping into her next step in academia. Her area of interest in research includes decision-making processes and their underlying neural correlates.
Rumandeep Hayre is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. She completed her undergraduate & postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham. Since then, she joined the University of Birmingham where she completed a 3-year postdoc with Melissa Colloff. Her research interests include cognitive control, metacognition, computational modelling and neuroimaging techniques.
Rafia Begum Islam is a third year undergraduate student studying B.Sc Human Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham. As a research volunteer in the ACCB Lab, she assists with data collection to understand the cognitive processes involved in decision making and works directly with participants to gain practical experience in a research setting.
